Yesterday, Monday 14 October, fashion company JBC officially opened its new offices on the industrial site Centrum-Zuid in Houthalen. The new headquarters count 12.500 sqm and it has a curved façade of up to 150 meters wide which contrasts with the striking vertical solar lats in Cava color.
Much attention was also being paid to the interior by architect Rob Gijsenberg from Buro B in Genk and this at the request of the client to design a warm and woman-friendly building. The building has a long spatial diversity with long sightlines allowing users to orient themselves easily and enjoy the interior as well as the exterior view.
The Democo-team - led by Sofie Massonnet - started in January 2012 wit the structural works which were ended February 2013. Subsequently the other companies of the Democo Group were engaged to finish the building : Van Den Briele provided the complete HVAC and sanitary installation (with 7.700 sqm of floor heating !), AEW for the electrical installation and Deholi (in temporary association with Weygers) realized the finishing.
With this integral construction team approach and project management, our efforts resulted - despite of the harsh winter and very tight deadlines - in the delivery of a significant, contemporary and warm building.
