The Gilson project was developed by the Aarschot city Council together with DMI Vastgoed. The sale of the apartments started in the month of July and until this moment already 60 % of it has been sold.
The Kapitein Gilson square - next to the Leuvensesteenweg - will be reconstructed and becomes the central gate again to the city centre. Further, a central building with 44 apartments and 1.200 m² of office space will be build.
The building's architecture - from HUB Architecten Antwerp - is remarkable and recalls the atmosphere of the former ancient barns of the 'Hageland'. Next to the square there will be lawns and a pétanque court which will give the square a more intimate and quiet character.
Recently, the archeologic pre-research was finished. After the relaying of the utility pipelines, Democo will start construction works in the beginning of 2012.
